The opening of Sea Q Grill is the result of many years of hard work and inspiration from the Lobster Pound& Real Pit BBQ in Bar Harbor, Maine. For over 15 years we were living in Texas and cooking award winning Texas BBQ. In 2008 we decided to take a family trip to New England where we vacationed in Bar Harbor, Maine. We immediately fell in love with the mountains, Atlantic Ocean and, of course, the lobster. The one thing we noticed was the lack of real BBQ. We saw lobster pounds all over the area and soon the idea of lobster and Texas BBQ emerged. People ask all the time, how did you get this idea and the answer is simple. Two of most peoples' favorite foods need to go together. The best of both worlds! So we opened the Lobster Pound & Real Pit BBQ the following summer. It was an immediate hit, but as is the case in Maine, are only open in the summers. Every summer, Floridians who vacation in Maine constantly tell us you need to open a restaurant like this in Florida - so here we are. We found this location and love the fact that it has a wonderful outside seating area plus an inside that has so much character. Our whole focus in Maine has always been serving the highest quality, locally grown food that we possibly can. We purchase all natural pork for our ribs and pulled pork and certified black Angus beef for our prime rib, hamburgers and steaks. Of course, live Maine Lobster right from our lobster tank for our lobster bakes and picked for real Maine Lobster Rolls. Fried whole belly clams, steamers and mussels from New England are more of our favorites, as well as our sea scallops and shrimp. Our fish and chips is fresh Atlantic Haddock and Cod. Another of our customer favorites is smoked mussels that are smoked immediately after you order them on our outside BBQ pit. The real Texas BBQ we offer is again smoked on site and is a low and slow process. Our brisket takes over 18 hours to cook and the ribs smoke for 8 hours. All of our sauces and rubs are homemade along with our coleslaw, potato salad and beans. We want your dining experience to be enjoyable and we strive our hardest to accomplish that.
